Terms of Service

Vellum lets you create invoices, proposals, and quotes. You can share them via a public link, send them by email, and download them as PDFs. The service is currently in beta and free of charge.

Documents you create in Vellum are yours. We don’t claim ownership over your content. We don’t read it. We don’t train models on it. We don’t sell it. We don’t share it with third parties.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your documents. We are not a law firm, accountant, or financial advisor.

You need an account to create documents. You can sign in with GitHub or Google. We store your name and email from that provider. We don’t store your password.

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. If someone else uses your account, that’s on you.

Vellum is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We do our best to keep your data safe, but we make no guarantee of uptime or data permanence.

When we launch paid plans, existing free users will be notified before any change affects their documents.

Don’t use Vellum to create documents that are illegal, fraudulent, or designed to harm others.

Don’t try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or build a competing service from Vellum’s infrastructure.

We can suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. We’ll try to tell you first unless it’s urgent.

Vellum is provided ‘as is’ without warranty of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be error-free, always available, or fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of Vellum.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.

We can terminate access if you violate these terms. Your data will be deleted within 30 days.

We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll update the ‘Last updated’ date above. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
